I was nine years' old when I acquired the writing bug. I interviewed a guy on our street that had the best yard and asked him my very first interview question: "Which is better for plants, tap or rain water?" He replied, "Rain water," and I launched into researching all things related to plants and watering techniques. At nine years old.
This interview and research became a first draft, written long-hand. With edits, I typed out my first article for the one-run neighborhood 'zine, The Bentley Bugle, which I sold to neighbor Jimmy Flowers for a nickel. I. Was. Hooked. Writing short stories, I developed a love for research and character development. I served on my high school and college newspapers where my token phrase was "I have an idea." I love writing -- all kinds of writing: nonfiction, fiction, journalistic, magazine, blog and marketing. I apply tenacity and accuracy to interviewing, research, writing, editing and the entire editorial process when writing.
